There were two exemplars for the Nuremberg Chronicle, one for the Latin version written by Schedel and another for the German translation by George Alt c. Drawn by the author from multiple medieval and Renaissance sources, such as Bede, Vincent of Beauvais, Martin of Tropau, Flavius Harmtann, Bartolomeo Platina and Philippus de Bergamo Iacopo Filippo Forestathe Chronicle also incorporates geographical and historical information on European countries and towns.


Approximately Latin and German copies survived into the twenty-first century. FROM Hartmann Schedel’s Chronicle of the World, widely known as The Nuremberg Chronicle, after the German city gartmann which it was created, was a groundbreaking encyclopedic work and, at the time, the cheonicle lavishly illustrated book ever printed in Europe.
