In fact, the most impressive thing about the book is the sheer imagination displayed throughout it. I’ll say that if you are a fan no firbolgs, you won’t be disappointed. Re-reading this as an adult, I can understand that dynamic – Darkwalker on Darkaalker the first novel in the Forgotten Realms universe, published in had all the fantasy components that appealed to me -then and now – elements of low fantasy aspects of the Realms are like medieval Europe, akin to Game of Thronesmoonshaae of high fantasy magic!

With that in mind, if you like the 2nd and 3rd Edition Forgotten Realms, and particularly find yourself attracted to fantasy nature and druidic themes, this book and its trilogy will be satisfying to read.

Drawing om from a corrupted Moonwell — a source of power sacred to the Goddess — it roams the land, amassing its followers moinshae spreading darkness throughout the isles. It was good enough that I’ll eventually pick up the next book, dadkwalker I wouldn’t rank it among the best books I’ve ever read. There are some clunky passages and dialogue, at least early on, but Niles writes combat well and paints a vivid picture of a beautiful land beset by evil.
